Our first project as Amanda Herring’s design team was to design a project based on the theme ‘home is where the heart is.’ We are using the cute Flora and Fawn fabric by Amanda Herring for Riley Blake. I instantly thought of a sweet home block with a heart in it to show all the love in a home! This project quickly grew into a twin size quilt and my first pattern release!
Introducing Home! It’s a twin size quilt that is fat quarter friendly.
I’m excited and nervous and everything in between! The pattern Home can be found in my shop here.
The colors in this quilt are some of my favorite! And the prints are so cute! Those deer are so adorable! I just had to showcase them with a large border. I am always a sucker for a text print. And the text prints in this line are so cute! As I was piecing the quilt, I felt like I was getting a little pep talk with phrases like ‘be brave’ or ‘find your own voice.’ Isn’t that grey text so cute?
I had a lot of fun taking pics of this quilt. We live outside of New York City so a trip into the city with the quilt was a must! Central Park is one of our favorite places, so I had to get a pic of Home there. It was dusk, so the pic is a bit dark. But I still love it! I love the skyline of skyscrapers in the background. Home can really be wherever you are!
We also have some fun parks close to our home where we take our kids to play. I wanted to capture some of our everyday Home. Also, isn’t that quilting amazing? My friend Kim quilted it for me and I LOVE it!
Last of all, I spend a lot of time sewing in my Home. So I couldn’t resist a pic with my latest tag sale find! (or yard or garage sale- depending on where you are from) This antique Singer in the original table has all the heart eyes!
Home is not perfect, home can be messy, but it can also be full of a lot of heart and love. I hope you enjoy my new pattern!
Chirp Out!
