I am so excited to share my project today! Anderson Design Group has designed some beautiful fabric panels for Riley Blake. They are all based on Destinations. I knew instantly what destination I would pick, The Greatest City in the World…New York City!

Anderson Design Company also designed these amazing map prints. I love maps! I knew this would be a perfect addition to my quilt!

These map prints remind me so much of NYC. It could be the Subway map or the streets winding in and out of each other. I added a pop of red to these flying geese for a modern quilt look. The red also matches the Empire State Building on the panel. I pieced and quilted this with my favorite Aurifil thread. I piece everything in my favorite white and quilted it with this grey.

I live outside of NYC with my husband and six kids. We packed up the kids and headed towards the city for a perfect photoshoot. We got to the skyline view right at sunset. It was perfect!

I love taking quilts ‘out in the wild’ for a photo shoot. I am totally that crazy quilt lady who drags a quilt all over the place! You should see the looks I get! Haha I recently got back from an epic trip across the country with a quilt! If you missed it, you can read about it here. This also isn’t the first quilt to make a trip into the city. My Hello Brooklyn quilt made its debut appearance at the Brooklyn Bridge.

While most of these pics are of the Downtown skyline, I had to include a shot of Midtown Manhattan. One of the reasons I was drawn to this panel is that it includes the iconic Empire State Building and Chrysler Building. Both of these buildings are close to my husband’s office. My kids kept asking which building on the panel is Daddy’s work! So if you look really close, you can see the Empire State Building in the background of the picture.

Of all the places I have been to, NYC is my favorite! I love the business of the city. I love all of the fun things to do. I love all of the yummy food to eat! I love Broadway! It really is the Greatest City in the World!

We stayed taking pics until it was dark. There is something so magical about the NYC skyline all lit up at night. One World Trade Center is such a beautiful building!

Thank you for stopping by! I love sharing my city, NYC! If you need a new destination, I highly recommend coming and seeing New York City! If you would like to see more of what I’m up to you can follow along on Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest.
Chirp Out!
