Alma Quilt QAL- week 3

It’s week 3 of the Alma Quilt QAL and time is flying by! This week we will be constructing colors 4 and 5. This is where you really start to see the quilt come together.

Baby Alma Quilt

I talked about this last week, but these two colors are really the main colors of your quilt. With this Modern rainbow Baby Alma version I really wanted the Frosting Pink to be the main focus of the quilt. Keep that in mind as you construct your quilt. If you don’t like color number 5, pick a different one! Haha

Pattern correction!

And I wouldn’t be human if I didn’t make a few mistakes along the way! No matter how many times I proof a pattern and have my pattern testers checking….there will be mistakes! Without further adieu, pattern correction number 1. This correction is for the original Alma pattern. On Assembly Instructions for Color 4 it should state to measure and then draw the line at 13″. The original pattern said to do it at 13.5″ Make sure to make that change in your pattern!

Alma quilt fabric pull

I am excited to start making this quilt. I am a bit behind with a broken foot! I never expected to be running a quilt along with a busted up foot! I should be sewing again soon. The good news is this quilt is so fast! I seriously made two baby Alma quilts in one weekend! So even if you haven’t had a chance to start, you still have time to make this quilt! As always, I’m using my favorite Aurifil thread to piece this together!
